The Daugava River at Klidziņas is part of the Daugava Valley Nature Reserve. The Skrīveri Arboretum, created by Maximilian von Sivers, owner of the Skrīveri estate, at the end of the 19th century, is located on the ancient Daugava riverbank. His intention was to bring together all the trees and shrubs of the northern hemisphere’s temperate zone. The park is designed in the English or landscape style, highlighting the steep bank of the Daugava. A maze of well-maintained paths meanders through the seemingly pristine tree stands. A magnificent view across the Daugava opens up on the hill near Klidziņas. A small passenger vessel, Baltā kaza (White goat), runs regularly between Jaunjelgava and Klidziņas.
